Moja sztuka czeka na publikację. Czy mogę ją zgłosić do Konkursu?
Tak. Regulamin Konkursu w żaden sposób nie ogranicza zgłaszania utworów, które zostały lub zostaną opublikowane oraz które były lub będą wystawione na scenie. Zgłoszenie do udziału w Konkursie nie ogranicza także możliwości zgłaszania tekstów do innych konkursów. Uczestnik Konkursu jest jednak zobowiązany sprawdzić, czy inna publikacja/inscenizacja utworu nie ogranicza jego praw w zakresie, w jakim udziela licencji organizatorom Konkursu.
Zgłaszając utwór do Konkursu twórca (w tym tłumacz) udziela Teatrowi Polskiemu im. Hieronima Konieczki licencji niewyłącznej na korzystanie z utworu w celu przeprowadzenia poszczególnych etapów Konkursu. Licencja udzielana jest na mocy Regulaminu Konkursu, poprzez akceptację jego warunków. Szczegółowe warunki oraz pola eksploatacji, na jakie udzielana jest licencja zostały określone w §9 Regulaminu. Prosimy o szczegółowe zapoznanie się z tymi zapisami.
Co oznacza, że zgłaszany utwór został stworzony w ciągu ostatniego roku?
Zgodnie z §3.2: Do Konkursu mogą zostać zgłoszone Utwory, które zostały stworzone po 31.12.2021 roku w przypadku autorek bądź autorów zagranicznych i po 31.12.2022 roku w przypadku autorek bądź autorów polskich.
Wiemy, że praca nad tekstem jest często procesem rozciągniętym w czasie, a jego “czas powstania” nie zawsze można określić co do dnia. Ograniczenie określone w Regulaminie dotyczy jedynie ostatniej, zgłaszanej do Konkursu wersji utworu.
Czy przesłany tekst powinien być opatrzony godłem?
Nie jest to wymagane. Ponieważ do udziału w Konkursie mogą być zgłaszane utwory już publikowane lub/i wystawiane na scenie, anonimizowanie utworów nie jest wymagane.
Czy zgłaszana sztuka ma być napisana na określony temat?
Nie, w ramach Konkursu nie jest określana tematyka utworów. Zgłaszane sztuki nie muszą w żaden sposób odnosić się np. do haseł programowych kolejnych edycji Festiwalu Prapremier. Do Konkursu przyjmowane są natomiast teksty nowe (powstałe w ciągu roku lub dwóch lat – w przypadku autorów zagranicznych – przed ogłoszeniem danej edycji), dlatego ważnym kryterium jest rezonowanie we współczesnym świecie. Jury i Kapituła Konkursu, obok oryginalności tematu, biorą pod uwagę także walory literackie i formalne sztuki, a także jej potencjał sceniczny. (patrz: §4.1 regulaminu).
Jakie są wytyczne dotyczące formatowania tekstu i jego objętości?
Formatowanie tekstu (czcionka, marginesy, interlinia, itd.) nie są w żaden sposób narzucone. Nie określamy także minimum i maksimum stron i/lub znaków zgłoszonych utworów.
Dołączony do zgłoszenia utwór powinien być zapisany jako plik w formacie .doc, .docx lub .pdf.
Czy mogę zgłosić utwór, jeśli jestem obywatelem kraju którego nie ma na liście krajów, dopuszczonych do konkursu (pełna lista – w Regulaminie), ale mam stałe miejsce zamieszkania w jednym z wymienionych krajów.
Dopuszczony jest udział w konkursie autorów posiadających obywatelstwo lub status rezydenta krajów, wymienionych w Regulaminie. Pod statusem rezydenta rozumiemy, że autor ma stałe miejsce zamieszkania w kraju, który zamierza reprezentować i posiada dokumenty, potwierdzające ten fakt.
Mam tekst napisany w jednym z roboczych języków konkursu przetłumaczony na inny roboczy język konkursu. Czy mogę zgłosić obie wersje?
Do konkursu należy zgłosić jedną wersję językową w jednym z czterech języków roboczych (polski, angielski, rosyjski, ukraiński). Jeśli tekst jest dostępny w kilku roboczych językach konkursu, decyzję o wyborze wersji językowej podejmuje autor.

My play is going to be published. Can I submit it to the Competition?
Yes. The Rules of the Competition do not in any way restrict the submission of works that have been or will be published and that have been or will be staged. Also, submission to the Competition does not limit the possibility of submitting texts to other competitions. However, the Contest participant is obliged to verify that other publication/staging of the work does not restrict his/her rights to the extent that he/she grants a license to the Contest organizers.
By submitting a work to the Competition, the creator (including the translator) grants the Polski Theater in Bydgoszcz a non-exclusive license to use the work for the purpose of conducting the various stages of the Competition. The license is granted under the Regulations of the Competition, by accepting its terms and conditions. Detailed conditions and fields of exploitation for which the license is granted are specified in §9 of the Regulations. Please read in detail these regulations.
What does it mean that the submitted work was created within the last year?
According to §3.2: Works created after 31.12.2021 in the case of foreign authors and after 31.12.2022 in the case of Polish authors may be submitted to the Competition.
We know that working on a text is often a process that stretches over time, and its „time of creation” cannot always be determined to the day. The restriction specified in the Regulations applies only to the last version of the work submitted to the Competition.
Should the submitted text be anonymized?
This is not required. Since works that have already been published and/or staged may be submitted to the Competition, anonymization of works is not required.
Does the submitted play have to be written on a specific topic?
No, the Competition does not specify the topic of the works. Submitted plays do not have to relate in any way, for example, to the program line of the Prapremiery Festival. However, the Competition accepts new texts (written within a year or two years – in the case of foreign authors – before the announcement of a given edition), so an important criterion is reverberation of the Work in the contemporary world. The Jury also takes into account the literary and formal qualities of the play, as well as its stage potential. (See §4.1 of the regulations).
What are the guidelines for the formatting of the text and its volume?
The formatting of the text (font, margins, interlineation, etc.) is not imposed in any way. We also do not specify minimum and maximum pages and/or characters of submitted works.
The submitted work should be saved as a file in .doc, .docx or .pdf format.
Can I submit a work if I am a citizen of a country that is not on the list of countries admitted to the competition (full list in the regulations), but have a permanent residence in one of the listed countries?
Authors with citizenship or resident status of the countries listed in the Regulations are allowed to participate in the contest. By resident status we mean that the author has permanent residence in the country he intends to represent and has documents to prove this fact.
I have a text written in one of the working languages of the contest translated into another working language of the contest. Can I submit both versions?
You must submit one language version to the contest in one of the four working languages (Polish, English, Russian, Ukrainian). If the text is available in several working languages of the contest, the author decides on the language version.
